How to Protect New Dental Bonding

Protect New Dental Bonding

When you have a chipped or cracked tooth, cavity or other problem where the tooth is less than perfect and needs to have a procedure done, then you probably have something known as dental bonding done.

This is when a material or resin that is the same color of the tooth is used to bond together the tooth to make it look natural. It is almost like a filling, but it is done with natural colored material on the outside which provides a natural look.

Protecting That New Dental Bonding

The new dental bonding that is done in your mouth has to be protected in order for it to last quite a while. When you have the procedure done, you need to make sure that you protect the area by refraining from hard or crunchy foods in that tooth.

This is because it is going to cause a lot of problems in the mouth when you eat there and the spot is still semi-soft. You do not want to worry about the dental bonding falling out because of this.

Dental bonding can also be stained like your normal teeth, which is why it is also important to stay away from food and drinks that can stain them. This makes them change to a different color which can be a bad thing when you think about smiling and having part of your tooth changed to a different color. Before they are completely solid, they are porous, which can be a problem.
